Founding Heritage Sponsorship Opportunity
Little Rock Civil Rights History Tour
Presented by The Daisy Lee Gatson Bates Foundation
Become the Founding Heritage Sponsor. Your $7,500 sponsorship will help bring Arkansas' civil rights heritage to life across the entire tour app, told through Daisy Bates' experiences and documented words.
Some of the stories that changed America began right here in Arkansas. Preserving those stories—and inviting people to experience the places where they unfolded—is an opportunity to connect history, education, and tourism.
The Daisy Lee Gatson Bates Foundation invites you to become a Founding Heritage Sponsor of Daisy Bates: In Her Own Words, a civil rights history tour app launching November 11, 2026, on Daisy Bates' birthday.
As the nation approaches the 70th anniversary of the Little Rock Nine's integration of Central High School in September 2027, the app will offer a way for residents and visitors to explore this history through 33 historic stops, audio, video, archival material, and storytelling.
Although the tour's physical locations are in Little Rock, the stories belong to Arkansas, and their reach extends throughout the state and beyond its borders. They tell of Arkansans whose courage, leadership, and determination helped shape the nation. They also connect audiences with the communities, institutions, and experiences that shaped those individuals.

There is only one Founding Heritage Sponsorship available. As the Founding Heritage Sponsor, you will be recognized for supporting the entire app and its 33 historic stops.
Your Founding Heritage Sponsorship includes:
The app can help attract travelers interested in civil rights, African American history, journalism, and American history. Connecting individual landmarks through a cohesive tour gives visitors more to discover and reasons to spend additional time exploring Arkansas.
The tour can serve as a starting point for discovering related historical and cultural destinations across the state. Its stories provide opportunities to encourage further exploration of Arkansas communities, museums, historic sites, and local experiences.
Students, educators, families, and prospective travelers can engage with Arkansas history wherever they live. Virtual access can introduce the state to new audiences, support trip planning, and inspire future visits while making the experience available to those unable to travel.
Visitors exploring historic places also need meals, lodging, transportation, and other services. A compelling heritage experience can contribute to travel decisions that create opportunities for Arkansas businesses and communities.
Residents do not have to travel to Little Rock to begin learning. The app can become a resource for classrooms, libraries, families, and community organizations throughout Arkansas, helping connect younger generations with the people and events that shaped their state.
The 2027 commemoration offers a timely opportunity to introduce this resource. The app is intended to continue serving visitors, educators, and residents long after the anniversary, preserving stories and supporting discovery for years to come.
Your Founding Heritage Sponsorship would help bring these stories to a wider audience while demonstrating a commitment to the state's cultural heritage and the communities that sustain it.
We welcome a conversation about how the Founding Heritage Sponsorship can align with your company's heritage priorities. Together, we can invite people to discover Arkansas through the voices, places, and stories that helped change America.
